Contracted Group.

A contracted group is recommended for weddings with over 10 rooms (20 passengers) traveling. With this type of group, you will “block” off a number of rooms and the hotel will promise not to sell those rooms. They will also set these rooms at a competitive price solely for your group. In exchange for not selling those rooms, you will put down a deposit (usually $100 per room) to take the rooms out of inventory and hold them for your group. They are promising NOT to sell those rooms until your group has had a chance to book by a certain date (that they set) at your special price.

For example, if you contract 20 rooms, you’d pay $2000 to the hotel to take the 20 rooms out of inventory for your group. The $2000 sits in a “bank” at group level and can be refunded to you at the end of the process OR you can use it to apply to the balance of your own room. You will earn comps and credits on your group as long as ALL guests book under the same agent, agency, and contracted group—meaning all guests have to book through LTW Travel under the supplier that I use.

Flexible Group.

A Flexible Group is a group type that I recommend for weddings that will have 10 rooms or less total. With this type of group there are NO large deposits required and no rooms are blocked off for your guests. I request a special group code that will give a small discount per room. Guests can book whenever they want, but they are subject to the cost of rooms and inventory available when they book. You still qualify for all comps and credits BUT your guests HAVE to book under the same agent, agency, and group code for the rooms to count under your group. You will earn comps and credits on your group as long as ALL guests book under the same agent, agency, and contracted group—meaning all guests have to book through LTW Travel under the supplier that I use.
