Group Comps

A “Comp” is a free room that a resort pays out for you having your wedding at the resort. The “free room” is refunded to you (or whomever you choose) as CASH after your wedding.

Comps are earned when you and your guests book your wedding through the SAME AGENT and AGENCY (meaning all rooms within your group MUST be booked by the same AGENT & AGENCY). The groups department for the hotel/resort will know that you are booking through the same AGENT & AGENCY (me) via a group code added when you and your guests book. There is usually a minimum amount of 3 nights that a reservation has to book for to qualify toward a comp (meaning that 1 and 2 night stays will not help you to earn a comp in most all cases).

For example your comp incentive may be get 1 free room for every 5 booked up to 3 times. If the average cost of a room is $500 per night including taxes and fees; and guests stay 3 nights the total room cost would be $1500. If 6 rooms book at that rate and the 6th is FREE; the comp amount (minus taxes and fees) may be $1200. This means that if you have 18 rooms travel; that 3 would be free—meaning that AFTER everyone in the wedding travels that you will receive a refund of $3600 ($1200x3).

Comps will be refunded back to the payment method that you used when booking 2 - 4 weeks after the conclusion of the wedding if you have enough rooms to qualify. The resort lets the Destination Wedding agent know the amount of the comp and then the Agent (me) will ask which card(s) you would like the comp amount refunded to (if multiple cards were used)
